At Give & Grow we believe there is no better seed that we could plant than to educate and inspire children. We volunteer our time and resources to local schools for all types of gardening projects both in and out of the classroom. As horticulturists, we know that a love of gardening can grow from an early age. We are always updating our website about our current gardening projects just in case parents want to learn more too!
Lemon Cucumber Seed Project
This unique heirloom vegetable is wonderful for slicing or pickling. It looks like a lemon, but has great cucumber taste. If you love cucumbers, you may eat this one just like an apple! It is hard to find in grocery stores but grows well in our area.

Care instructions:
Keep your newly planted seeds moist and humid until they sprout. Once they have sprouted continue to grow and water them in a sunny location. You can continue to grow your seeds in the pot and transplant them once the roots have filled out the container. You can test this by gently tilting the container upside down to determine if the roots are holding the soil together. Once your "root ball" is formed then plant them in a sunny spot. For best taste pick your fruit at a mature size of 3.5” x 2.5” or smaller.
Other heirloom vegetables that are fun to grow are tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. You can find heirloom vegetables and seeds at:
